Best Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the boiling water to the batter, stirring until well combined. The batter will be thin.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Tap the pans on the counter a few times to release any air bubbles.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then carefully turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cakes are cool, you can frost them with your favorite frosting. Some options include chocolate buttercream, whipped cream, or cream cheese frosting.
