I love Joe’s Crab Shack Popcorn Shrimp. It’s great for parties, snacking at home and eating in front of the TV. I’m absolutely addicted to the crispy outside and the tasty center.

To make Joe’s Crab Shack Popcorn Shrimp recipe you will need the following ingredients:

* 1 lb small shrimp (shelled with the veins removed, but the tails intact)
* 4 tbs corn starch
* 2 eggs (beaten)
* 1/4 cup of water
* 1 cup cracker meal
* 1 tsp garlic powder
* 1 tsp Creole seasoning
* 1 tsp brown sugar
* 1/3 cup plain bread crumbs
* 1/3 cup flour
* 1 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
* 1/2 tsp paprika
* 11/2 cups of corn or vegetable oil

To make Joe’s Crab Shack Popcorn Shrimp recipe, place all the shrimp in a large bowl. Add the garlic powder, brown sugar and Tabasco sauce and mix well. Marinate the shrimp in the fridge for 1/2 hour or overnight if you’re not pressed for time.

In your second bowl, beat the egg and water together and then set aside.

In your third bowl, mix together your flour, cracker meal, bread crumbs paprika and creole seasoning and set aside.

Set up one more bowl for full of corn starch and set aside.

Get a large skillet and heat up your oil for frying; you can also use a deep fryer if you have one.

You can coat one piece at a time, or in coat them in small batches. Coat your shrimp with corn scratch, then egg, and then roll it in the cracker mixture. When all your shrimp has been coated, fry your shrimp until they turn golden brown.

The shrimp will float to top when they are cooked. Remove the shrimp and place them on paper towels to absorb the excess oil. Serve with tartar sauce or whatever condiments you like!
